We believe our uniform should instil a sense of identity, pride and belonging. We want our pupils to be comfortable in school as well as ensuring high standards and consistency.
“School uniform supports effective teaching and learning and engenders a positive, calm and respectful teaching and learning environment.” (DFES)
Our student council, governors and staff have discussed changing to a ‘smarter’ school uniform for some time now. We are all in favour of changing to a smarter uniform. We have therefore decided to consult with all students, parents and staff, and request your views. Our governing body will consider all the feedback and decide whether to make changes or not.
A photograph of the new school uniform can be found on our school website under the ‘school uniform tab’ in the parents and pupils’ sections. The price of the new uniform will be in line with present Pen y Dre uniform prices.
Pen-y-Dre School Uniform consists of:
New school jumper or cardigan with colour trim and logo.
New school tie.
Plain collared white shirt.
Black trousers / skirts.
The student council also wanted:
- A school ‘hoodie’ to wear to and from school (not in lessons).
In addition, pupils who already have school jumpers or sweatshirts with our logo can wear them until they need to be replaced with the new jumper.
