We are so proud to announce that our very own Artist in Residence, Mr Adam Griffiths, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Welsh Government's Professional Teaching Awards Cymru 2018.
Adam is a former Gellifaelog and Pen y Dre pupil, who went on to become Head Boy here at Pen y Dre.
A very popular, kind and hard-working colleague, Adam's work makes a profound impact on the learners he supports. These can range from our pupils who go on to study fine art at university, to others for whom art is more of an everyday creative and emotional outlet.
He is a great support to the teaching staff here at Pen y Dre, and works very dynamically within the art team under the mentorship of Mrs Linda Powell.
Adam is also very active in the community and works with a range of creative organisations. We are currently a Welsh Arts Council Lead Creative School and Adam has delivered many multi-media projects using film, CGI, video as well as more traditional media.
Hopefully we will have a video from the awards to further showcase Adam's work here at school and we wish him all the best in the finals.
Well done Mr Griffiths!
