Levels and timescales
There are three Award levels:
Did you know that Pen y Dre High School is a partner school for the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme?
This summer term our Bronze Award Students have visited the Gower in order to successfully attain this award.
Our key stage four students have just arrived safely back from France, where they had an amazing time and completed the Silver Award.
We are so proud of the opportunities this scheme provides for our pupils: you can read more below to find out how your child can become involved in this fntastic programme:
Bronze- for those aged 14+
Silver – for those aged 15+ years
Gold – for those aged 16+ years
If you are in Year 9 but are only 13 years old, you may be able to start a Bronze DofE programme if most of your friends are already 14 – check with your DofE Leader.
Activities for each DofE section take a minimum of one hour a week over a set period of time, so they can be fitted in around academic study, hobbies and social lives. Development and regular progress must be shown and all activities must be completed by the participant’s 25th birthday.
